Comic #12: National Shoe Offender
I remember initially reacting to the “shoe incident” with amusement rather than concern, which is kind of a sad statement. It’s sad in that one would find only levity in the idea of someone throwing footwear at your president/the most powerful man in the world. Is that a reflection of me or a reflection of the target of the footwear? Anyway, I latched on to that feeling when I read that al-Zeidi was being released early from prison. I wondered what sort of requirements for release there could be for someone convicted of throwing his shoes. Will he have a parole officer who checks up on him? Who knows!
